EV Readiness Awards

The Selection Process

The Ready, Set, Charge! Bay Area EV Readiness Awards will be presented for electric vehicle programs, policies and infrastructure in three categories: EV-Ready Business, EV-Ready Development (multi-unit housing), and EV-Ready Community (local government).  Nominations have been collected by means of region-wide surveys designed to solicit specifics on EV readiness. Awardees were evaluated by a distinguished awards committee and will be presented at the Charged 2012: EV Symposium Silicon Valley luncheon on August 23rd.

The Criteria

EV-Ready Community
  • Local official training and education programs
  • Community outreach
  • Streamline permitting and inspection processes
  • Updated policies and building codes
  • Current and/or planned number of private and public charging stations
  • EVs in municipal fleets and public transportation
EV-Ready Business
  • EV leader engagement and strategy
  • Employee awareness and EV use incentive programs
  • Current and/or planned number of EV charging stations
  • EVs in fleet
EV-Ready Housing Development
  • Supportive EV and charging station services and/or policies
  • Providing information on EV amenities and procedures
  • EV charging station pre-wiring and/or electrical system readiness
  • Current and/or planned number of EV charging stations
